Avinash Mishra won the hearts of many with his stint in the reality show Bigg Boss 18. He was among the top 5 finalists but unfortunately couldn’t win the show. Talking about his journey, Avinash was talk of the town for his equation with Eisha Singh and fights with Karanveer Mehra and Chum Darang. Ahead of Bigg Boss, the actor was often in news for his alleged relationship with Bhavika Sharma and Titli co-star Neha Solanki. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Bubble, the actor claims how such rumours are a part of PR strategy.
Avinash Mishra on link-up rumours being PR strategy
When it comes to Bigg Boss 18, two bonds that were highlight of this season were Avinash Mishra-Eisha Singh and other was Karan Veer Mehra and Chum Darang. The actor has reacted to such narratives and called fabrication of such news a PR strategy.
He says, “Sometimes, to promote a show, link-up stories of two actors start circulating a lot. It’s a PR strategy that’s often used in many shows. The two actors might be friends and not even know what’s being written outside. Suddenly, news appears that these two actors are dating. People see this news, and they click on it. ‘Oh, what show is this? It’s on this channel, let’s go watch it.’ Internally, the PR team creates and pushes this news to promote the show. So, you see these link-up stories often in the media, and sometimes the actors are okay with it. Different actors react in different ways. Some actors even capitalize on these stories. But as mentioned, people react in different ways. So, the link-up of co-stars often happens. Sometimes it’s a PR strategy or just a rumour and sometimes it’s real. But this kind of thing happens.”
He adds how such a strategy was even used in Bigg Boss house and says, “Even in Bigg Boss, the same thing was done. There are many contestants whose PR was running outside. I’ve said this many times in the house – ‘Yes, this person has a strong PR package, and there’s nothing wrong with that.’ Whoever has taken it, they’ve done a great job. Why wouldn’t they take it? I didn’t know, so I would have done it better. But that’s also a game plan. Understand that it’s a reality show, so someone is playing the game. There are strategies happening both outside and inside the house, and there’s nothing wrong with that.”
About Paid PR news
During the media press conference segment of ‘Bigg Boss 18’, a reporter asked Karan about allegations that his team was using paid media to set narratives against Vivian. Karan humorously responded, saying he doesn’t have enough money to form a team. After the round, Avinash Mishra was agitated by media questioning. In aggression, he said Vivian Dsena, “Baat yeh hai ki sabne woh wala package le liya woh PR wala”.
